Glacier Energy Services, a specialist provider of engineering and integrity solutions to the international energy sector, has secured a contract in the Middle East through its Machining Solutions division.
The award is for six low clearance (LC) Clyde pipe cutting and bevelling machines for a mechanical contractor in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is the second significant order received in the UAE for Glacier’s LC Clyde machines within the last twelve months.
Norman Roberts, director for Glacier’s Machining Solutions division, said: “Winning this second order is testament to the quality, reliability and durability of the LC Clyde pipe cutting and bevelling machine. At Glacier, we have a strong international reputation in the provision of world-class cutting solutions based on a field-proven track record spanning over 40 years.
“To date, we have delivered hundreds of machining solutions projects to subsea and land pipeline construction companies globally, many of which have involved solving highly technical, and challenging, pipe cutting and bevelling work scopes.
“We see the Middle East region as a key growth market for our business and will continue to pursue new opportunities that will benefit from our specialist knowledge, services and expertise.”
Glacier has over 50 clamshell portable pipe cutting and bevelling machine tools available in the region ranging from 2.000” – 42.000” in diameter. These machine tools can be hired on an equipment only basis or deployed by a team of highly skilled technicians.
Glacier has deep-rooted onsite machining capability developed both organically and through strategic acquisitions. The journey began when Glacier acquired Roberts Pipeline Machining in 2011, renowned specialists in the design and manufacture of precision onsite cutting machines. Today, the Roberts Pipeline Machining name and its Clyde range of products remains synonymous with the highest standards of precision, efficiency, quality and reliability.
