Alternative Energy

The combination of increasing worldwide demand for energy, diminishing supplies of fossil fuels and the need to reduce the risks of climate change are behind an upsurge in alternative energy solutions.

Operating internationally, we are at the forefront of thermal technology for the alternative energy sector, offering innovative and effective heat transfer products, with a strong focus on managing energy efficiency.

We offer a wide range of shell & tube heat exchangers for the storage of energy in solar thermal power plants, plate heat exchanger solutions for geothermal power generation, and air coolers for wind & biomass power plants.

Our expertise, however, is not limited to heat exchangers, and we specialise in the design & manufacture of energy efficient pressure vessels, receivers, pressure containing equipment & radiators.

Alternative Energy

Renewables

Glacier Energy has a long-established track record providing solutions to the renewables sector in the UK and Europe.

We have been working in the renewables sector for more than 20 years, having provided services to every large-scale offshore wind project across Europe. Glacier Energy has been at the forefront of innovation for the renewables industry and continues to provide best-in-class solutions for our customers.

Our team has been involved in the provision of services for the manufacture of offshore wind turbines since the 1990’s. Our services are delivered at the site of construction, and the team delivers NDT and inspection as well as weld testing, with the use of ultrasonic techniques on monopiles and transition pieces.

    Glacier Energy knows that it is imperative that assets are optimised to ensure maximise productivity to suit current process conditions, both for upgrades or downgrades.

    The team works with customers to provide a range of solutions offshore platforms and drilling rigs, that aim to reduce maintenance downtime and improve production capacity.

  • CAPEX

    Tougher, more remote recovery environments is changing the way in which offshore platforms are being delivered.  Quality and globally consistent solutions are required in order to ensure streamlined ops & maintenance for the future. Glacier Energy’s extensive experience working on the construction of topsides and jackets means our team is well placed to provide specialised solutions to meet specific requirements, delivered as a stand-alone service or with the added benefit of multi-bundle workscopes.

Refineries & Terminals

We specialise in providing onsite machining, non-destructive testing and heat exchanger services for onshore terminals and refineries, delivered within turnarounds or as part of ongoing maintenance activity.

For new build terminals and refineries, Glacier Energy offers extensive experience in providing products and services that offer high-quality, increased life cycle for the likes of heat exchanger products, conventional and advanced non-destructive testing and onsite machining products.

Industrial

Glacier Energy offers a complete range of solutions to the industrial sector. We work with a range of customers across the industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical and food & beverage industries to deliver solutions to new facilities as well as the upgrading of existing equipment.

Our team offers 24/7 support for industry-based customers, for whom, any unexpected maintenance can have significant ramifications on the overall running of their business or facility. Glacier Energy works onsite to deliver a solution, or ensure equipment is repaired in our bespoke workshops and delivered back to working order, often with tight turnaround times.

Industrial

Power Generation

Glacier Energy provides solutions to the power generation industry, for new and existing facilities.

With strong expertise in the design and manufacture of heat exchangers, radiators and coolers, the team has provided turbine lube oil, seal oil, transformer oil, generator air & hydrogen coolers. We also specialise in the manufacture of new replacement units, retubing of existing equipment and the cleaning and servicing of existing units, with significant experience in the use of titanium.

Glacier Energy’s advanced non-destructive testing techniques, particularly eddy current, pulsed eddy current and iris inspection, have been used on projects for condensers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks and pipework.

In addition, our specialist onsite machining services provide specific expertise working in the complex environments within the power generation industry, where ‘off-the-shelf’ solutions may not be applicable.

Petrochemical

Glacier Energy provides expert solutions for repair, maintenance and upgrades as well as new build and manufacture.

Glacier Energy manages and supports full turnkey projects and maintenance driven scopes of work with a variety of services and products offered to both new and existing petrochemical plants

With unparalleled expertise in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels, columns, pig launchers & receivers, skid packages and heat exchangers, the in-house thermal and mechanical engineers have provided expertise in the manufacturing of new replacement units to the client required specifications, retubing existing equipment onsite or in our workshops and removing the bundles, cleaning and servicing existing units to the desired cleanliness allowing full NDT to be carried out.
