Tower Flanges and Shell Joints

Glacier Energy’s client required an assessment of the integrity of tower flanges and shell joints on multiple wind farm sites across Europe.

There were several logistical and geographical challenges and various tight deadlines to be met by the team. 

Due to the location of the sites, this involved the team working within extreme hot weather temperatures, which added a further challenge to the scope.

Glacier Energy mobilised several multi-disciplined inspection teams to various European locations to carry out conventional, advanced and visual inspection on the tower flanges and shell joints as required by the client.

The team were highly responsive and completed the inspection successfully, in accordance with the client’s stringent health and safety requirements.

Glacier Energy’s ability to meet the tight deadlines that were put in place by the client meant that downtime of the asset was kept to a minimum, saving the client time and money.

The team’s ability to react quickly was vital for the success of the project, resulting in the client being highly satisfied with the work completed.
