QHSE Manager

Reports To: Director – Heat Exchangers


  • Maintain the company’s ISO 9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 45001 accreditations.
  • Undertake internal audits, as required to ensure compliance with the requirements of quality accreditations and internal procedures.
  • Key facilitator with ownership and implementation of continuous business process improvements.
  • Responsible for the Group internal QHSE audit schedule in Aberdeen and Rotherham.
  • Develop quality plans and test and inspection plans when required.
  • Manage the production of project QHSE data dossiers for delivery to the customer including material certificates, inspection reports and calibration certificates etc.
  • Ensure that working practices are in accordance with the requirement of national and when required, international standards as well as client requirements.
  • Lead, develop and maintain a culture that encourages safe working practices amongst all employees, promoting QHSE awareness, accountability and responsibility.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained by each business unit in relation to third party QHSE audits and prevention inspections.
  • Collate and report all GHT monthly data for Group QHSE and facilitate annual and monthly meetings. Identify and implement improvement initiatives, which includes procedures, processes, safe systems of work, risk assessments, method statements and COSHH.
  • Review and comply with client project requirements, ensuring these are met.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and hazard reports making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence using Root Cause Analysis.
  • Manage and facilitate HSE internal training, including Tool Box talks, as required.
  • Promote awareness and coach all employees with the implementation of the company’s policies and procedures.

Person Specification


  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject or acceptable relevant experience.
  • Proven inspection experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Relevant experience in either onshore/ offshore oil and gas industry engineering design and fabrication.
  • Good working knowledge of steel fabrications for the offshore industry.
  • Experience of working with Heat Exchangers a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of welding processes, qualifications and documentation.
  • Good understanding of HSE legislation, management systems and practices.
  • Sound practical knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 45001 requirements.
