Welding Engineer

Reports To: Director – Welding Solutions Division


  • Develop, prepare, review and approve the following to ASME IX, EN 15614, ISO 9606, API 6A, NACE MR0175, relevant industry standards and client specifications using TWI Weldspec and Welderqual software;
    • Weld procedure qualification records
    • Weld procedure specifications
    • Welder qualification certificates 
  • Analysing the quality of welds and results and preparing reports necessary for welding productions
  • Monitoring and coordination of welding operations, NDE, mechanical testing and compiling of final information relating to Weld Procedure Qualification Record tests
  • Liaise with client and third party inspection bodies on technical and welding issues
  • Responsible Welding Co-ordinator for company ISO 3834-2 certification

Person Specification


  • International / European Welding Engineer (IWE / EWE)
  • A strong background in practical manual welding (TIG, MIG and MMA) is required for this role.
  • Understanding of welding processes related to manufacturing and engineering activities and strong understanding of quality and process control with respect to welding.
  • Problem solving and process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA) experience.

  • Logical and analytical approach.
  • Efficient, with good attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn from others and share best practice.
